Dublin is a suburban city in Alameda County, California, United States. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a population of approximately 49,890 people and a total area of 14.9 square miles (40 km2).
The city of Dublin has a city council form of government, with the city council being the legislative body of the city. The city council is responsible for establishing policies, enacting legislations and providing guidance and direction for actions which affect the quality of life in the City.
The city council is made up of five members elected by the general public. Council members serve four-year staggering terms while the mayor who is appointed by the council members serves a one-year term.
