East Palo Alto (E.P.A.) is a city in San Mateo County, California, United States. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a population of approximately 28,155 people and a total area of 2.6 square miles (6.7 km2). East Palo Alto is bordered to the south by Palo Alto, to the west by Menlo Park, and to the east by the San Francisco Bay.
The City Council of East Palo Alto is the legislative body of the City. The City Council has five members elected by the city residents and serves four-year staggering terms. The mayor and vice mayor are appointed among the council members.
