Lieutenant Mike Fridley is his second-in-command. The HCSO has four stations that provide law enforcement services throughout the county. These are Garberville Station, Main Eureka Station, Mckinleyville Station, and Trinity River Station. The HCSO is also comprised of several divisions such as Court Services, Dispatch, Animal Control, Special Operations, and Administrative Services.
The Main Eureka Station is comprised of two Lieutenants, four Sergeants, six Corporals, and 21 Deputy Sheriff’s. It provides services to unincorporated areas of Arcata (Bayside, Fickle Hill) and Eureka (Myrtletown, Cutten, Pine Hill, Samoa, Fairhaven) along with those areas of Kneeland and Elk River. The station also covers the unincorporated areas surrounding the cities of Fortuna, Ferndale and Rio Dell as well as the areas of Humboldt Hill, the South Spit / Table Bluff area, Loleta, Hydesville, Scotia and the Redcrest area.

The Garberville Station provides law enforcement services to the communities of Garberville, Redway, Shelter Cove, Miranda, Phillipsville, Weott, Myers Flat, and Alderpoint. The station consists of one Sergeant, five Deputies, and one Legal Office Assistant.

The Custody Services Division of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office oversees the Humboldt County Correctional Facility (HCCF). It is staffed by 104 Correctional Officers and has a board rated capacity of 417 beds. The inmates in this facility are allowed at least two 30-minute visiting sessions each week. Visitation is a first come, first serve basis. All visitors must fill in a Visitor Request Form in the lobby of the facility during the scheduled visiting hours.
