The Kings County Sheriff’s Office works in partnership with the communities to create a safe environment where people can live and work. This full-service law enforcement agency is under the command of Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator David Robinson. The KCSO is comprised of two main divisions which are Detentions and Operations. The Detention Division is overseen by Assistant Sheriff Dave Putnam. The Operations Division oversees Patrol, Detectives, Civil, Administration, Records, Animal Services, Evidence, Coroner, Water Rescue, Backgrounds, K-9, SWAT, and Hostage Negotiations. The division is headed by Assistant Sheriff Robert Thayer.
