The Corrections Division of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Department oversees the operations of the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. This jail can house a maximum of 283 inmates. Inmates here are allowed one 30-minute supervised visit each visiting day. They can receive up to 4 visitors at one time. The visitation lobby is open from Tuesday to Friday. Visits in the morning are held from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Afternoon visitation is held from 12:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. Evening visitation is from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The NCSD also operate the Truckee facility which is a temporary housing facility.
