Atherton, CA

Atherton is a town in San Mateo County, California, United States. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a population of 7,159 people and a total area of 5.0 square miles (13 km2). The city borders Redwood City to the southeast and San Jose to the northwest.

City Council

The city has a city council form of government. The Atherton City Council is headed by Michael Lempres the current Mayor, he was first elected in November 2014 and his term expires in 2018. The mayor is helped in running the city by the following council members, Cary Wiest, Vice Mayor; Rick DeGolia, Council Member; Bill Widmer, Council Member and Elizabeth Lewis, Council Member.
