Colusa City Information

Colusa is the county seat of Colusa County, California, United States. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a population of approximately 5,402 people and a total area of 1.8 square miles (4.7 km2).

City Council

The City Council serves as the policy making body of Colusa City government. The main role of the city council is policy direction and improving the quality of life of the City’s residents. The city council has so far been able to maintain a productive working relationship with the local community by promoting community involvement in the decision-making process and maintaining a transparent City Government. The city council is made up of five members elected by the city residents at large. In turn, the City Council appoints a Mayor and Mayor Pro-Tem.  Kirk Kelleher is the current mayor. City Council meetings are held on the first and third of every month from 6:00 pm at City Hall located at 425 Webster Street.

The Police Department has a workforce of nine sworn full-time officers, including the Chief of Police, one Lieutenant, two sergeants and five officers. Josh Fitch is the acting Chief of Police.
